Berdych, Dimitrov, Johnson, and Bryans Commit to Citi Open

WORLD NO. 8 TOMAS BERDYCH, GRIGOR DIMITROV, STEVE JOHNSON, AND BRYAN BROTHERS CONFIRM COMMITMENT TO PLAY AT 2016 CITI OPEN® TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Single session tickets open Monday, May 16; Citi cardmember ticket presale now open

WASHINGTON (May 13, 2016) — World No. 8 Tomas Berdych, fan favorite Grigor Dimitrov, 2015 semifinalist Steve Johnson, and 2015 doubles champions Bob and Mike Bryan have committed to play at the 2016 Citi Open® Tennis Tournament, to be held July 16-24, 2016 at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center. This year’s tournament represents the 48th edition of the Capital Tennis Tradition, benefiting the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF).

Berdych, a perennial top ten player and a former Wimbledon finalist and Dimitrov, who has been ranked as high as No. 8, along with Johnson, join previously announced players, including top American John Isner and two rising American stars Taylor Fritz and Reilly Opelka in the Citi Open. Former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki, also previously announced currently leads the women’s field. The Bryans, the greatest doubles tandem of all time will be looking to secure their fifth Citi Open title.

Single session/daily ticket sales for the tournament will open Monday, May 16, with proceeds benefiting WTEF, the tournament’s nonprofit owner and beneficiary. The organization provides underserved children in the D.C.-area with a safe environment to learn critical life skills both on and off the courts through academic and athletic enrichment.

Each ticket provides fans access to the action on all six match courts for up to as many as 24 matches per session in the early rounds providing tremendous value for the ticket price. A ticket provides fans with one reserved seat on Stadium Court, as well as general admission on all outer courts on a first-come, first-served basis, as well as various onsite activities, concessions, social areas, and more. Tickets to gain admission to the tournament’s signature special events will be announced soon.

The Citi Open Tennis Tournament is one of only 13 elite ATP World Tour 500-level events worldwide and the only one held in the United States. The tournament also features a WTA International Tournament, which provides fans the opportunity to watch simultaneous competitions of both world-class men’s and women’s tennis throughout the nine-day event. It is one of only four U.S. tournaments that include both men’s and women’s fields. Main draw matches of the tournament will be broadcast on Tennis Channel.
