WIMBLEDON GIRLS’ DOUBLES CHAMP USUE MAITANE ARCONADA

TO RECEIVE MAIN DRAW WILD CARD TO CITI OPEN® TENNIS TOURNAMENT

WASHINGTON (July 13, 2016) — 2016 Wimbledon Girls’ Doubles champion Usue Maitane Arconada will receive a main draw wild card to the Citi Open® Tennis Tournament. Main draw play begins Monday, July 18.

Arconada, 17, won her first WTA match at the Citi Open in 2013, when she received a qualifying round wild card at age 14.

Two other women making moves today are Lauren Davis, who will move into the main draw following the withdrawal of Heather Watson due to an abdominal injury. This change will also push former Citi Open doubles champion Shuko Aoyama into the singles qualifying draw.

In addition, 17-year-old Raveena Kingsley of Baltimore, Md., will receive a wild card to the qualifying rounds. Kingsley climbed the WTA rankings quickly, coming from No. 611 at the end of 2015 to No. 280 currently.
