DC's most passionate tennis fans will have more to cheer about at the 2022 Citi Open!
Tournament officials announced today the Citi Open is extending its partnership with Tecnifibre, the fastest-growing premium brand in the racquet sports industry. Tecnifibre will be the official stringer of the annual Washington tennis tournament and has created a premium co-branded apparel collection for the 2022 Citi Open, which will run this summer from July 30 - August 7.
"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Tecnifibre," said Citi Open Chairman Mark D. Ein. "Aligning with world-class partners is a top priority for us, especially ones like Tecnifibre that share a commitment to brand, quality, and aesthetics. For many years now, they have been at the forefront of innovation in the racquet sports industry and we are very excited to count them as the official stringer, racquet, and apparel partner of the Citi Open. I know our fans will love our amazing, co-branded collection when they come on site."
Tecnifibre’s rapid expansion in the market has been fueled by the emergence of its top players, ATP World No. 1 and 2019 Citi Open finalist Daniil Medvedev and WTA World No. 1 Iga Swiatek, and the success of several new product launches.
“As we continue to grow the Tecnifibre brand globally, we look for partners that share not only the same level of excellence that we do, but also and perhaps more importantly, the same passion for the game,” says Marco Baron, CEO of Tecnifibre North America.
“The Citi Open has a rich history filled with the most accomplished champions of the sport. It’s hosted in one of the most iconic cities in the world, Washington DC, and supported by Mark’s contagious passion for tennis and the DC tennis community. To that end, it’s the perfect match. We look forward to delivering the Citi Open fans and players a fantastic experience.”
